| Background | On fisheries issues, the Ministers seek to reach a general approach to the regulation on the Common Fisheries Policy (12514/11), aimed at ensuring sustainable management of fishery resources and contributing to the availability of food supplies. Its main objectives are the simplification of legal procedures and reporting obligations, a reduction in market support, strengthening the role of professional organisations and providing better information to consumers. Finally the Commission informs the state of play of the negotiations with Morocco for the establishment of a fisheries partnership agreement. |
