On 20 February Donald Tusk and Mike Pence meet for the first time to discuss how to strengthen transatlantic cooperation.
The meeting in Brussels is part of Mr Pence's first foreign trip since taking office in January.
President Tusk recently said that a strong transatlantic bond, which is based on shared values, was necessary to maintain global order and peace. Closer cooperation is the only way to deal with unprecedented challenges such as Da'esh or threats to Ukraine's sovereignty.
"Transatlantic co-operation remains an absolute priority because it has until now been a key pillar of the free world", said President Tusk.
EU Ministers of European Affairs, Industry, Research and related areas meet in Brussels on 20 February 2017 to agree on rules to strengthen consumer protection cooperation in the internal market. Ministers are also discussing concrete actions to help start-ups and scale-ups to better seize market opportunities and do business in the single market.
