The 19th bilateral summit between the EU and China takes place on 1-2 June 2017 in Brussels. The aim is to advance on the strategic partnership between the EU and China. European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker represent the European Union. China is represented by Prime Minister Li Keqiang.
Meeting in Brussels, the leaders of the EU and China reaffirmed their full commitment to the Paris Agreement, sending a strong message to the world one day after the US decided to unilaterally pull out of the landmark climate deal. The issues of human rights and North Korea were also discussed.
