Donald TUSK, President of the European Council, attends the UN high level meeting. Key priorities for the EU are strengthening the rules-based global order, fostering peace, enhancing counter-terrorism cooperation and promoting nuclear disarmament. The President addresses the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on behalf of the EU on 20 September. Federica MOGHERINI, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, is also present at the UNGA, and attends different events and meetings.

In March 2012, Serbia was granted EU candidate status. In September 2013, a Stabilisation and Association Agreement between the EU and Serbia entered into force.
The 4th meeting of the Accession Conference with Serbia at ministerial level was held on 13 December 2013 in Brussels to open negotiations on Chapter 5 - Public procurement, and to open and provisionally close Chapter 25 - Science and research.
The 19th bilateral summit between the European Union and Ukraine, leaders welcome the completion of the ratification of the Association Agreement, (including its Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (AA/DCFTA)) and the recent entry into force of the visa liberalisation for Ukrainian citizens, both concrete deliverables and fundamental steps in the process of deepening EU-Ukraine partnership. The summit is an opportunity to reaffirm the strong partnership between the EU and Ukraine and discuss progress on, and the EU's support for the Ukrainian reform agenda.
